Wyse Technology Announces Availability of 3630LE Next-Generation Integrated LCD Thin Appliance

Latest Thin Appliance Offers Industry's First Digital LCD Monitor and Reduces Use Of Premium Counter Space Via Integrated 15-Inch Digital Flat Panel Display

San Jose, CA – 2001/04/16 - - Wyse® Technology, the worldwide leader in thin-appliance computing, today announced the availability of the Wyse ™ 3630LE ultra-thin appliance, the first Windows terminal built inside a 15-inch digital flat panel multimedia display. The integrated all-in-one device is ideal for businesses in a local area network (LAN) environment that use a standard suite of office productivity applications accessed from the server or the Web. The ultra-slim design of the thin client is ideal for environments where space is at a premium.

The 3630LE represents the first time a desktop manufacturer has married the digital functionality of a LCD panel with thin-client technology. Unlike analog LCD displays that can cause eye strain due to the poor display of text and/or graphics, the 3630LE digital LCD panel projects images that are clearer and cause significantly less eye strain on the end user. In addition, the 3630LE thin appliance comes with the option of an industry standard wall-mounting unit, making it that much easier to install, connect and use. The 3630LE's ultra-slim design occupies 75 percent less counter space than conventional personal computers with a CRT monitor. Depending on the customer's needs, the 3630LE can be removed from the countertop completely by mounting it on the wall.

The thin appliance features 10/100 BaseT Fast Ethernet, two USB ports multiple terminal emulations and integrated multimedia stereo speakers. The 3630LE is used with popular thin-client solutions such as Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server, Windows NT 4.0, Terminal Server Edition, Citrix MetaFrame and Citrix NFuse.
