Wyse Technology Thin Clients Adopted by Puerto Rico Court System

Wyse Thin Clients Deployed in Tribunales to Lower Total Cost of Ownership and Increase IT Security

San Jose, CA – 2002/04/12 - - Wyse® Technology, the worldwide leader in secure, managed thin clients, today announced it is helping the court system of Puerto Rico to cut back on rising IT costs and desktop management challenges through the deployment of Wyse ™ thin clients. Instead of deploying 700 personal computers with their support costs and headaches, Tribunales decided to deploy Wyse thin-clients thereby eliminating the problems of long-term personal computer support.

"The Information Technology Office recognized the reduction in TCO that a flexible thin-client solution would bring to the agency," said Angel L. "Wyse thin clients offered Tribunales the greatest benefit for administrative office support as well as other high-level positions within the court system."

Rock Solid Technologies in San Juan, Puerto Rico helped the court system acquire two different models of the popular line. The 3200LE terminal provides Tribunales with a solid platform to access both its mainframe application as well as its office productivity applications. The court system is also using the powerful 3360SE, a unit that offers more flexibility to the power users in the court system.

The 3200LE, based on the Microsoft Windows CE operating system, provides easy and cost-effective access to standard office applications, plus email and Internet browsing. The 3360SE, also based on the Microsoft Windows CE operating system, and Windows 2000 server is the best way to simplify desktop and IT management by delivering greater flexibility, productivity, security and longevity in server-based computing environments.
