Wyse Shatters Limits of Remote Client Management with Introduction of Rapport 4.0

Next-Generation Software Increases Cost Benefits of Server-Centric Computing; Manages Hundreds of Thousands of Devices from a Central Location

Wyse Technology, the domain experts in server-centric computing, shatters previous limits for remote client management with today's introduction of Rapport™ for Wyse, version 4.0 device management software. CIOs can now maximize the return on their existing IT investment since this new version manages an increasingly complex and growing number of networked devices from a single management platform. Rapport for Wyse reduces IT management costs by managing up to hundreds of thousands of client devices, including desktop and wireless thin clients, with fewer staff. In addition to much greater scalability, Rapport for Wyse increases management update performance by more than 500 percent, which means administrators can update clients in a fraction of the time they could before.

Rapport for Wyse, version 4.0 has an intuitive design that trims the time and cost needed to train IT staff. While previous Rapport offerings set the industry standard for performance and scalability, this new version multiplies those capabilities and allows IT managers, whether they manage enterprises for small organizations or for the world's largest corporations, to centrally control greater numbers of client devices than ever before.

Rapport for Wyse, version 4.0 increases the benefits of Wyse thin clients, which include enhanced security, manageability, affordability, and reliability. As businesses grow, Rapport for Wyse helps CIOs deploy and maintain new connected devices and allows them to control and manage the growing number of devices within the enterprise. As a result, the management software helps organizations increase the lifetime and value of their IT infrastructure to ensure that each device remains up-to-date with the latest firmware and security updates.

Rapport for Wyse, version 4.0, provides a new, intuitive management console that reduces IT training requirements, further cutting personnel and management costs. With Rapport for Wyse, a single IT professional can manage client maintenance, upgrades, configuration changes and even inventory from either a single or multiple installations of Rapport's Microsoft Management Console plug-in. The software includes features like automatic discovery to determine when thin clients are connected to the network, and also offers easy scheduling and grouping to maintain and update client devices without the need for human intervention.

Product Availability
All Wyse thin clients now come bundled with Rapport for Wyse, version 4.0 Workgroup edition, which provides comprehensive management performance for smaller installations. As organizations grow, Rapport for Wyse Enterprise edition allows them to scale to manage environments with larger or more dispersed networks through the software's patented distributed architecture and Web-based technology. Wyse customers using the version 4.0 Workgroup edition or Rapport 3.02 can take advantage of upgrade pricing.
