Wyse Executive to Address Role of Thin Clients in Healthcare at Annual HIMSS Conference

Speech to Highlight Secure Data at the Point of Care, Security, Cost-Effective HIPAA Compliance

San Jose, CA – 2005/02/14 - Wyse Technology, the domain experts in network-centric computing, today announced that Jeff McNaught, the company's vice president of corporate strategy, will speak at the upcoming Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2005 Conference and Exhibition on Wednesday, February 16 from 3:15-4:00 p.m. HIMSS is the healthcare IT industry's most comprehensive collection of educational sessions, technical exhibitions, and networking opportunities.

In his session, entitled "Secure Data at the Point of Care with Thin Clients" McNaught will provide an overview of how Wyse® ™ thin clients can be combined with mobile medical workstations and other solutions to bring secure, mobile access to EMR and CPOE systems to the point of care. Through brief case study examples, McNaught will discuss how network-centric thin client devices are helping healthcare CIOs make the most of information technology for patient care by providing mobile access to information with increased data security and centralized device management.

Wyse will also showcase its thin client solutions in its booth (#5758), including the recently announced S30 thin client. The S30, an enhanced version of Wyse's powerful Windows CE-based device, offers superior price/performance and exceptional innovation in the form of a tiny, sleek design with low power consumption. The S30 is one of the first thin clients based on Windows CE 5.0, and the device's extremely small form factor allows it to be easily mounted in a variety of locations. 3150SE thin client - Loaded with both legacy and high-speed I/O ports, the 3150SE provides excellent utility for a broad range of thin client environments and features enhanced video performance in a tight, classic legacy I/O form factor.
1200LE thin client - Provides a completely stateless, centralized desktop management option, allowing for more control over the desktop experience.
Eclipsys® and Flo Healthcare® carts - Featuring the 9455XL thin client, these cart-based solutions demonstrate the value of secure thin clients at the point of care.

In addition, the Wyse S30 and 3150SE thin client products demonstrated at the booth will also have retinal and biometric scanner attachments available, for security-related demonstrations of each peripheral.
